Millbrook woman killed in car wreck

MILLBROOK — A Millbrook woman was killed today when she lost control of her car on a snow-covered Route 82 and crashed into a delivery truck, authorities said.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said Linda Lauriti Williams, 38, was driving her 2002 Toyota northbound on Route 82 around 5 p.m. when she crossed the middle of the road and collided with a 2005 Nissan delivery truck driven by John Taracciano, 51, of Pawling, who was in the southbound lane.

Williams was taken by Alamo Ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Taracciano and a passenger were not injured. The accident closed the road for about four hours, authorities said.
