Third Watch On DVD In England

7 posts in this topic

Here's something I want to know.

Why is Third Watch-The Complete First Season, an American show, available in Europe on DVD, but not the US?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Third-Watch-Comple...4?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

I'd love to get this, but apparently I can't watch a "Region 2" DVD on my DVD player at home here in the US. What is up with that?

Amazon explains it here

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/d...8&nodeId=502554

But I still don't get the point of it...

Oh well, hopefully one day it will be released on DVD here, like the multitude of other shows. I miss it, especially since A&E stopped airing it in the fall.

You should be able to play it on your computer... you "technically" can only change regions I believe 4 or 5 times on a dvd drive in a computer before it becomes "locked" but you can find software online to get past that

If you read the first user review, it appears to indicate that it's available as a 6 season box set in the US. I know its not in stores, thats for damn sure cause i've been looking, and even have amazon set to tell me when it becomes available. However, I do recall seeing it on the net once, I held off buying it for fear of the regional thing. I'll try to find it again. I totally agree, what backwards person invented this region dvd system????

I'm not too sure what the quality is because I haven't bought it yet, but I figured it's worth a shot. Can't be too bad, right?
