Just passing along some info of a great resource we have for both individual knowledge and department resources.

This is the link to the Faculty-Student Association Bookstore that is located in the Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls. They carry numerous manuals and books from many fire service and ems publishers and often at a discount.

In addition to books they also have fire academy apparal and sell tons of patches for NY State fire and ems certifications.

You can also ask if they have your departments tax exempt number on file to receive items tax free and I have often received free shipping for manuals.

Not only can you get knowledge at a discount, the FSA in turns uses the money they earn to purchase items for the fire academy for student comforts and to better the atmosphere. I know its assisted in the placement of wireless internet service in the building, bought a few large TV's and a large outdoor cooking grill. So it all assists us in the end.
