Seminole County FL Events Log Center

3 posts in this topic

With my gf recently visiting down in Seminole County FLA, it sparked my interest to think about the fire/EMS protection is offered down by where she is staying. Doing a little research, I found that through their county site, the E911 center puts out a list of incidents ongoing, or dispatched, and what assignment(s) there are.

It is not an in detail listing, and it automatically refreshes every 2 minutes. After a while, it clears and previous incidents listed.

I just thought it was a cool idea to see the county listing online the incidents their staff is going out on. Maybe something we can see around here some day!

This is the current 911 Activity Events with incident type and mapped locations. To satisfy all HIPPA regulations, Seminole County 911 screens out all medical related events. Location maps are displayed using Mapquest

Pinellas County Florida has a similar site. This is is an active calls list with a Google Map. It refreshes periodicly, possibly when a unit changes status. Medical calls are listed by grid square, rather than actual location, for obvoius reasons. Fire activity is listed by the actual street location.

Once in this site, click on the World icon and the location is pinpointed on the Google map.

Click on the actual location and this will bring you to their own GIS mapping system. Take a stroll around this site. This is information available to the public . This is a COOL idea, but take it to the next step and imagine the additional hidden layers of this map not seen by the the public, additional info only available to the emergency responders. How cool is that.

California Highway Patrol also has one:

I agree, I really like the idea as well!
