Low Band Portable Radio

Just wondering if anyone can point in the right direction for purchasing a new/used moderately priced low band portable (preferable motorola or kenwood). Did a pretty thorough search of eBay and only found a 1 kenwood for $429...looking for something cheaper! Any help is greatly appreciated.
