Triple Truss Construction

3 posts in this topic

While in LaGrange the other day, LAGRANGEFF40 pointed out this building under construction to me.

It has triple-truss construction. Three different sets of trusses for the roof. Does anyone know anything more about this method, or seen it before?

Seth:

It is not uncommon to see 2 sets of trusses in residential construction of certain types of homes. Many newer colonial homes have it. It allows for the vast expanse/distance you see from eave to peak.

In fact the one little section of triangle truss you saw at the academy...that "might" be from a residential construction site of a colonial type wood frame home. The triangle sits on top of the base section truss that is flat on the top and then the smaller triangle finishes it off attached with a gussett plate.
