Description Of Incident: Massive explosion @ Factory that manufactured printing inks & solvents. Explosion also damaged between 60-80 other buildings, of which 15-25 will need to be torn down to damage to foundations, etc. Approx 100 residents, including those living at the nearby New England Home for the Deaf were evacuated. There were approx 10 transported to local hospitals, none of whom were considered to have life-threatening injuries. Numerous EMS agencies from across the North Shore, including several local fire departments, sent ambulances to the scene. The cause for the explosion is unknown at this time, and it is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall, ATF, State Police, along with the Coast Guard and EPA due to chemicals entereing into the nearby Danvers River.
