Info on the optional FSS by Ford for the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor models. Many newer NY State Police vehicles have these installed. You can tell usually by the FSS sticker on the rear door windows or when you look inside the vehicle there will be a red button with a clear cover over it on the roof console near the windshield. This site also has a video you can see of it being tested, very good system that works. Just wanted to share to be aware of it as it is charged at all times for activation and only works in rear end collisions with fire and/or manual activation.
