HOLIDAY PARTY!!!

HELLO TO ALL!

For the past two years I have wanted to plan a gathering for EMTBravo

members. We thought about a Summer BBQ but that didn't work out.

After speaking with Seth we have decided to move forward and plan something.

How many of you would be in favor of a Holiday Party?

I am looking into a few places to hold this event.

I am actively looking at a few places.

I want to pick a location which is in the middle for everyone that way

you won't have to travel too far and most important keep the cost as low as possible.

It's a challenge but I already have a potential deal in the works.

I just hope we get a good turnout.

The Holiday Party will be open to EVERYONE on this site.

I have two suggestions as a Midway Point- Perhaps New Rochelle (New Roc City) White Plains, or Mount Kisco? Any or all of those is easy for me to get to (via Metro-North.)

How about some rigs on display if departments are willing to do that?

It can be an "Emtbravo Live" where everyone can mingle and share ideas with eachother from different views. Like what we do on this site just in person. And Everyone can wear a T-shirt with there Username on it to Identify eachother, lol. Unless you want to make it formal.

I'd also like to couple this hoilday party with a photo night.....like PhotoFire's idea.

People could make and present their best or favorite photos from 2006.

I'm sure someone here would be able to supply a digital projector....

I want to make sure the is enough interest in this party to proceed, and tickets would most likely have to be purchased through Rob or online via this site.

Most likely,  to cover costs, the tickets would be anywheres between $25 and $35, and the event would be held on a weekday night in December.  Funds would go to cover the cost of the hall rental, food, beverages, and IF there is any leftover, a holiday donation to a charity in the name of EMTBravo members, as well as to cover costs of operating this site.

PLEASE, if you are seriously interested in this event, post your interest on this thread.

Just to update everyone who is interested and I hope you ALL are.....

I am meeting with two catering facilities, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday.

I am trying my best to make this a fun night. I feel having it at a catering facility would be complete. Members just show up. NO WORRIES!

I am open to having it at a Firehouse IF it can accommodate a large crowd but then I would have to worry about who is bringing this and who is bringing that. If one guy forgets something or the other guy bringing the Baked Ziti does not show???

I think a catering facility or a nice restaurant is best for ALL!

Again, I will keep you guys posted.

Please keep spreading the word to spark some interest.

PROGRESS on the Catering Facilities.

I have a couple more to meet with.

One MAJOR issue has some up and that is LIABILITY of EMTBravo if we should host an event.

Does anyone know an Insurance guy or gal who could write up a policy

for the event and the costs involved????

This has pretty much HALTED all efforts until we can clear this up.

LIABILITY on EMTBravo, Seth and I is a BIG concern.

Chances are nothing would go wrong but what if? HMMMM

Other option.... If all else fails.....

I pick a date, place, and time for all of us to meet "as pals" and have a beer

and some food.

Liability??? The only liability would be to those who rent the place and are in charge of its cleanup. I don't think there would be much more liability as if someone was to hold the party at their house. If you worried about the serving of beer for those 21 and over, that should be a problem as long as everyone is responsible. Also too, look into a place that has a bar and run a cash bar through them, the liability of that is taken off the renter per say. But as long as we police our own we should be fine.

Just calarify of what liability you are thinking about.
