Description Of Incident: High speed police chase started in Fishkill (Dutchess) around 0610hrs by NYSP troop K (Poughkeepsie), vehicle was chased west across the Newburgh/Beacon Bridge where troops F(Middletown) & T(Thruway) joined the chase. Driver lost control just before the Wallkill rest area, and his vehicle struck a tree, ejecting the driver approx 25 ft into a shallow pond. STAT Flight was launched upon arrival of Maybrook FD, and cancelled by ALS after Air-2 developed mechanical problems and Air-1 was launched. Pt was txp. to Horton Hospital in critical condition, and flown to Westchester Med. Ctr. around 1100hrs that morning.
