Simple Mask (And Firefighter) Identification

6 posts in this topic

As those who have spent time on the fireground know, sometime’s it’s hard to clearly see who’s who when everyone is wearing an SCBA mask. Another issue is that sometimes all masks look the same, and sometimes your mask gets inadvertendtly swapped with someone elses whether at the scene or in the station.

I developed a simple solution for this that enhances fireground identity and provides for a definite way to know your mask is yours.

Very cool idea. How about this to kick it up a notch:

Find the same type of lettering, only reflective AND with the adhesive on the facing so you can put them on the inside. Even better visibility and they'll stay on the mask and stay cleaner much longer!

Nice bro. Some guys needed that mask so they can try to catch some rap with chics. Now you've taken that away. lol.

You are always thinking...nice $hit.

Our masks are numbered, as are our regulators. I just need to remember my numbers to find mine if I misplace them. I suppose this idea would work well if they were not numbered, and I do like the fact that it might just improve identification and/or accountabliity.
