F14 Tomcat tribute video

The Navy is finally retiring the F14 Tomcat this weekend at NAS Oceana. Pretty cool video of the Tomcat from different eras. Also includes pictures of each squadrons tail design.

I think it is the best fighter out there and I'm a big F/A 18 fan. Well it served us well. Hopefully they put one at the Intreped.

Don't worry they are not getting rid of the f/a 18 any time soon. So I will get to keep working of them for a while longer.

It's hard to believe 36 years of service have come and gone. How many of you wanted to be a Naval Aviator after seeing Tom "I'm Nucking Futz" Cruise do his thing in Top Gun? ....I thought so

For 2 yrs from Jan '00-Feb'02 I was a Firefighter at Oceana NAS working with the F14 and F18's..Very large fighter planes....but you could tell they were very old also....not to many calls for them...a few runoff of the runways and a brake fire or 2....Pinning and choking the planes for inflights were fun.
