Hastings on Hudson NY 1930 Aerial Tiller

  • In 1949 the City of Patterson NJ bought this Hastings NY used aerial intending to strip it for parts to keep their own rigs in repair. Upon delivery for the price of $600.00 (six hundred dollars) it was realized by all concerned that the FOX was in better shape than the Patterson trio of the same vintage. The city Mayor , who was in the tire business procliamed "The tires alone are worth more than $600.bucks"
  • This resulted in the PFD using the Hastings on Hudson NY Ladder for a half dozen years of active service.

The Fairview Ladder is unique. Is it still around? If it is where is it?

Wow those Foxes look great. We never had one in New Canaan. Darien still has theirs. It is amazing to see these rigs pumping. I would like to see the only surviving 1938 H.T. that served FDNY. Is it still in the state museam in Albany? They had twenty of then at one time. Thanks for sharing these photos.
