Latham Rescue 4 as pictured in the picture provided is very strange looking. Does any one have any more pictures of this rig as well as the specifications of this very strange rig.

What is on the back of the rig????

The truck was featured a few months back in the 'Fire Rescue' magazine. Unfortunately they don't seem to have the article online.

One of the reasons cited for the crane is to help with offloading of equipment from the top of the truck.

From what I have been told the crane is used to offload a large amount of cribbing which is stored on the top of the rear of the truck.

Saw this rig up close and personal at the annual Ossining Parade back in July (it was one of the first vehicles in the parade

Simply put, it is a BEAST, including, a crane, Hurst Tools in front bumper, roll away staging cover to protect in inclement weather

yea its a crane i heard to unload things on top of the truck. Also to stabalize things in emergencies or for usar operations

this monster looks more like a locomotive than a rescue vehical. the hurst tools in the front bumper are there because it's too far of a walk to the rear of the truck. that's no crane on the roof, cranes have outriggers, that is a glorified cherry picker. I like the awnings on both sides for enjoying a nice pitcher of Kool-Aid in the shade...
