It is a valid frequency per the FCC restructuring the VHF high band a few years ago. Do you have an old scanner?? If so it will round up narrow band frequencies(which this frequency is). You will still be able to listen to it though it is rounded up since only being .0075 MHz off. If you have say a 780. 785 or 795 Beacrcat, then you have to set the VHF spacing on the channel. If you have a newer scanner such as the 996 or 396 Bearcats, the frequency should automatically enter in. I was able to do it on my 780 and 396 no problem. My department's frequency is also in the same style spacing (156.1875 which rounds up to 156.1900 on older scanners).

New Canaan's dispatch channel is 153.8675 (transmit) and 155.9475 (receive). It is analog narrowband.
