From Bellville News-Democrat newspaper:

"Dana MacCrimmon, 45, died Friday after suffering an aneurysm."

From The Southern Illinoisan:

"MacCrimmon was named Carbondale's Employee of the Month for February 2005 and was also honored as the city's Employee of the Year for 2005.

She was actively involved with the Carbondale Fire Department's fire prevention program, serving as an instructor and coordinator of the program for the Carbondale Elementary School District.

MacCrimmon also served as director of Southern Illinois Camp for Burned Children, a free, weeklong camp for young burn survivors at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Touch of Nature Environmental Center.

Each year, the camp offers a variety of activities including caving, rock climbing, swimming and camping at Jackson Falls in the Shawnee National Forest.

MacCrimmon's kind and caring nature also was evident with her involvement with the International Association of Burn Camps, which works to set up similar programs around the world.

She is remembered as a kind and caring person who loved children. Her hobbies included enjoying the outdoors, photography, gardening and hiking."
