SC - Paramedic Died from Heart Related Illness

(Richland County) - Richland County paramedic Lt. Woody King died Saturday after suffering from cardiac problems at the scene of a stabbing.

King was backing up a Richland County EMS crew that had responded to a stabbing call when he collapsed at the scene.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said King's death was "heart related." King was transported to Palmetto Health Richland where he died a little after 8 a.m. Saturday.

King was a employee of Richland County Emergency Services for 22 years.

The stabbing victim, Terranio McNeil, 31, was transported to Palmetto Health Richland with life-threatening injuries. McNeil's live-in girlfriend, Lillie A. Jackson, 28, has been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill in the case.
