Time: 2230hrs

Location: Wharf X Allen Ave. on Narragansett Bay

Departments: Providence, Mutual Aid Co's, US Coast Guard

Description: 600-foot oil tanker at Port Providence struck by lightning as it was off-loading gasoline. Heavy fire at the fuel dock with the crew able to pull the tanker away from the wharf.
