That is great, but what does it mean?

It means that they can respond to a SCUBA incident by themselves without having to special call another SCUBA qualified rescue company on the initial assignment.

All 5 rescues are scuba and collapse rescue certified.

Up until about two years ago Rescue 3 was the only Rescue that had a collapse unit for citywide response. Now, all of them do so you can get the help you need quickly as opposed to waiting for R-3 or its back up and RC-3 to get there.

This all has to do with reviews post 9/11. There was a recomendation to have in a way 5 of each thing, or each boro can handel it's own stuff.

5 Rescue's

5 Collapse units.

Scuba

Collapse pods

Hazmat tech units. So each boro has some form of hazmat response.

etc...

do on a 10-60 do u still get 3 rescues one being rescue 3 with the collapse unit ? or do u just get the nearest 3 with their collapse units?

do all 3 rescues dispatched bring their collapse rescues ? and res2s collapse rescue is kept at the 1/4's of 132 truck they roll as a rescue support unit correct?

HFD23 they changed all that stuff around.

10-60 Gets two Collapse Rescue Taskforces. Rescue 3 is no longer the citywide collapse unit. You now get the 1st and 2nd due rescues along with the collapse units for each rescue.

Both rescues will have the collapse units respond with them. Not all collapse units are with the rescues, the host company will bring the collapse unit for them.

Also there is no longer Rescue Support Units. 132 is a Soc Support Ladder and will bring the collapse unit.

Check the following post on the updated changes to 10-60.

Does R - 3 still have that larger tractor drawn collapse unit or do they now have one to match the others?

Do they all have equal capabilites?

Thank you for the compliment. Although I admit, I have been wrong about a few things, and there are a lot of things I either wish I knew, or had better access to gaining that knowledge.
