FIREFIGHTER/EMT-D

The Town of Somers Fire Department is accepting applications for a full-time Firefighter/EMT-D. Starting Salary range: $34,000 to $36,000 depending on qualifications. Minimum requirements are as follows:

· State of Connecticut certified Firefighter 2 (2 years firefighting experience preferred)

· Haz-mat operational trained

· State of Connecticut certified Emergency Medical Technician - Defibrillation Level (EMT-D) with minimum of two years experience

· Must have a valid State of Connecticut driver’s license class 2-Q Restriction.

· 18 Years of age or older

· Must have obtained a High School Diploma or GED

· Citizen of the United States of America

· Applicants will be required to have a valid CPAT test (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certificate prior to their employment or be registered for a CPAT conducted by the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control (Connecticut Fire Academy) within one month of application. Employment is contingent upon passing CPAT

· Applicant will be required to pass written Fire and EMS exam

· Applicant will be required to participate in a oral interview
