Thanks RES20CUE! Quick question though- you posted many required qualifications but the job announcement only requires a driver's license and an EMT card.

I understand that an applicant must have experience dealing with pumps and hazmats but if the certs you listed are required how come they aren't posted in the announcement?

Can experience be substituted for the certs?

Just don't want to get shut out since I have lots of experience!

That's the Federal Gov't in action- don't send it to the people who know what's, what before they post the announcement! The certs are outlined in the OPM 0081 series guide- but most people wouldn't know that.

The actual position title is Firefighter (BLS/Driver-Operator/HazMat Tech)

Can experience be substituted for the certs?

No.

It doesn't hurt to still put in for it and see what happens.
