Sweden starts condom ambulance  service

Stockholm, Sweden, Jun. 5 (UPI) -- Sweden is attacking rising Chlamydia rates  

by dispatching emergency ambulances to distribute condoms to those in urgent  

need.  

The emergency vehicles are known as "Cho-San Express," named after a popular  

condom brand, the BBC reported Saturday.  

The service began this weekend in the cities of Gothenburg, Stockholm and  

Malmo.  

The number of cases of the sexually-transmitted disease among young Swedes  

has doubled in one year.  

The emergency service will be available three times a week. Those caught  

without the protection, can call one of the vehicles for the merchandise.  

For about $9, the Cho-San Express will deliver 10 condoms to any address  

within the city boundaries.  

One estimate says only 25 percent of Swedes between the ages of 16 and 25 use  

condoms.  

"I think it's a good PR-stunt, but it won't solve the acute problems. I would  

not call the condom express if I was in a situation where I needed one. It  

wouldn't feel right. It would create too much atention," said one  youth.

can anyone imagine calling an "emeergency condom ambulance" just to have sex??? why not just got to the store and buy them i think that a little less embarrassing then that thing showing up. :roll:

Happy thoughts? Last three times I responded to Heritage was for Cardiac Arrests. Now I remember why I work 45medic3 so much. :roll:
