Description Of Incident: ESU responded on a report of an emotionally disturbed person with a knife inside the building at 294 New Main street. ESU-3, 1st on scene confirmed with a witness that there was in fact a knife weilding EDP inside the building, very aggitated and upset. ESU deployed a 12 guage remington 870 less lethal bean bag gun, ballistic shield and an OC fogger. Upon entering the building officers encountered the EDP one floor above weilding a knife and highly irate. The EDP then ran upstairs, when he heard someone open their apartment door, officers gave chase and the EDP male charged ESU officers, swinging a knife uncontrollably as he leaned over a staircase rail, causing one ESU officer to discharge one less lethal round. This caused the EDP too fall to the ground and after a violent struggle the EDP was placed into custody. Empress ambulance transported the EDP to a local hospital for treatment, where he was treated and turned over to police and booked at the Yonkers City jail. No officers sustained any injuries.
