P.O. Gary Skerski, 46, was shot in the head by a robbery suspect armed with a shotgun. The suspect is still on the run. Skerski's funeral was attended by over 10,000 Officers from more than 65 departments, one of the largest turnouts for a Philadelphia Police Officer's funeral.

Skerski was a 16-year city police veteran, survived by his wife and two children.
