I arranged to photograph LAFD Fire Station 5 during its final day of service out of the now former station at 6621 Manchester Avenue, in the Los Angeles community of Westchester.

Business as usual; here Engine 5 responds on a Full Alarm Assignment to LAX Runway 25L for an Airbus with a landing gear problem. The plane ended up landing safely...

Built in 1950, this approximately 9,640 square foot building is overcrowded and its main systems are antiquated.

New Regional Fire Station 5 is built on 2-acres of land located on Los Angeles

World Airport commercial/industrial lease property. Built at a cost of $6.5 million dollars, the completed project includes a new 15,250-square foot Regional Fire Station, a 6,000 square foot apparatus storage building, and a 2,500 sq. ft. multi-purpose room.
