Motorcycle season

8 posts in this topic

It's warm weather time! Again we'll be out on our bikes riding around, taking in the nice spring and summer weather. Everyone be alert for each other, bikers and car drivers. Again car driver be vigilant out their watching for us and give us enough space since we are small and sometimes can't be visable. There were too many car vs bike accidents last year nationwide again for non alert car drivers.

Same thing goes for those bikers among us. Don't hotdog it or drive like an idiot since you have two wheels and can get in and out of traffic quickly. Again too many accidents occured last year when the cyclist was at fault.

Use your head eveyone and be safe. There are many of us here that respond to these calls and see the after effects of them. Lets not make anymore or become a statistic.

Have fun and be safe this summer.

Watch out for motorcycles?? What when some idiot is cutting through in between the lanes just to beat traffic...I admit it I'm the guy who will cut you off and make you wait in line. But you are right all drivers need to be aware of what is around them and use your mirrors to see who's zipping up on you.

As for the blue light...where will you put your gear?? LOL.

Hey Cam,

Read the second paragraph. Those are the idiots I an refering too, OK. Just FYI. Also please don't cut them off, if they hit you because of that, you'll get pinched and I don't need to go through a horror story because you did / wanted too. I have seen a lot of and delt with a lot of bike accidents on an EMS / FD level and dispatching at the troop. That is the worse thing to do only because you know how other drivers can be, they sell you out in a heart beat. (Just watching out for you, not critisizing one bit) But I understand fully how you feel. There are jack###es on bikes.

I saw one yesterday driving like a jacka## on 95 comming back from Ledyard, CT in the rain splitting lanes (which is illegal to do even if you area motorcycle trooper). I counted 15 times he was nearly taken out by a car do to his driving. He finnally got caught in New Haven / East Haven and the trooper (in a car) made him wait in the heavy rain yesterday while he wrote him a nice ticket. Good thing they have cameras! Too bad we cant catch all of these jerks. They give us a bad name.

Izzy,

I'm not trying to kill anyone. But if I see somone coming in the rear view that is a liittle ways off still, there won't be any room when they arrive. Believe me I'm all for motorcycles, just don't be a jerk.

Oh ok CAM, I misunderstood you there. I just worry about stuff like that, plus too I don't want to see anything happen to a good person like yourself and get into a bad situation.
