It is with deep regret that the Howells Fire District announces the passing of Firefighter Dave Smith, a 43 year member. Smith collapsed while preparing to respond to a call on Tuesday. He was rushed to Orange Regional Medical Center, but died approximately 1 hour later.

Wake and funeral arrangements will be announced once they become available.

Please extend your thoughts and prayers to Smith's family and department during this difficult time.
