The Recruitment Exams are scheduled for the following dates:

Practical Examination

Friday, December 12, 2003: 6 PM

The Written and Practical exams will take place at 35 Northampton Street, NEB, 6th Floor, Boston, MA. Click here for directions.

After successfully completing the Written and Practical examinations, you will be invited to a pre-employment oral interview before a board of Boston EMS staff members. The interview process may include scenario-based questions.

This process, including successful completion of the written and practical exams and the interview, will establish a list of candidates to which future employment opportunities may be offered.

Future employment with Boston EMS is contingent upon successful completion of all aspects of the pre employment screening process, including the medical/physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, background investigation, and Criminal Offense Records Investigation (CORI). Boston residency is required no later than six (6) months after your date of hire as a Boston EMS recruit. Full time probationary employment is designed to allow selected EMT Recruit applicants the opportunity to work and learn with Academy Instructors and seasoned EMT Preceptors at Boston EMS. EMT Recruits will work 40 hours a week, on varied shifts and schedules.

Questions regarding the pre-employment screening process and exams should be directed to Boston EMS, Research, Training, & Quality Improvement, 35 Northampton Street, NEB, 4th floor, Boston, Massachusetts 02118. Telephone: (617) 343-1125.
