As an Ice Hockey official, I can tell you for fact that there is only a single EMT present at High School games. Some schools do have trainers that are also there, but I have never seen an ambulance on stand by.

To add to what BNechis was saying about their high rise fire and the EMS agencies being on the Trunked system: I was on an ambulance coming in from Eastchester to that scene and as soon as we signed on, we were in constant contact with every other EMS crew. The EMS IC had every thing planned out and we knew where we were to park, check in, and stage all before we had gotten out of our district. It was well run from our stand point, however, I was not part of the fire side so I can not comment on their communications. As far as the storm a few weeks ago, I do know that all agencies that ended up in Pelham to assist were on the Trunked System, using Fire 18. All the calls were being logged by 60 Control and as units freed up, they were given a new assignment. All units on Fire 18 had an idea of who was where and what was occuring and I feel it worked out very well.

57B4 has been Out of Service since the 17th. There is a Ribbon-Cutting ceremony today for 57B3 which will then be officially In Service.

Best I could say would be to go on Ebay and see if any of the ones you are looking to offload are up for auction. Follow them and see what they end up selling for.

Dave, First off, congrats. I was up there during the massive flooding and I've got to say, you are joining one great bunch of people. Enjoy.

Thanks LTNRFD. Wasn't sure if they were going to change the response patterns.

If this rig is going to be first due to I-95 now, those scene lights should be very beneficial.

When can we expect this breaking news? Monday? This week?

The results are out.

Ive officiated these games twice (ice hockey) and will be performing other off ice duties this year. If you can get out to see any of the events, I strongly advise that you do. As for the Opening Ceremony, havnt been to any. All I know is that there are a lot of people and its long, hot, and uncomfortable, at least if you are an athlete wearing your warm-up suit (info from first hand sources).

The article also printed this boys "tag" name. So to me, he must have been well known, or at least had been doing this for some time. Find every other place he "tagged" and send the family a bill to pay for all the clean up. I also think it is rediculous that the courts will let this lawsuit go forward seeing as the kid was knowingly committing a crime and his parents agree to that fact.

I was in a few classes with Mike Carson at WCC a few years ago. Seeing his name in there does not surprise me at all. Way to go guys. Great job.

Does plagiarism come to mind anyone?

We watched it down here in Pelham at one of our monthly meetings a few months ago. Great and informative video.

Anyone else notice a big mistake (at least it appears to be a mistake) with the packaging of their Code 3 FDNY Engine 1? All materials, including the COA, stated the unit to be FDNY LADDER Co. 1

33.96 is the dispatch for all calls as Remember585 said. 60 then hits the tones over 46.26 for all calls other than EMS. Most of the volunteers have 33.96 pagers however, we still have a few members that do not wish to hear the EMS runs and they have the remaining 46.26 pagers. 46.06 is used for post dispatch communications with 60 Control. Fireground Opps take place on County Fireground 3.

Mine came in today as well.

Chris, I was up in Mamaroneck on wednesday and saw it still sitting at Excelsior. Not sure how much work is left to be done, but they are having it fixed so that it can be returned to service.

I guess mom will be serving a lot of Nachos these days.

Hudson, I noticed that change not too long ago and find it to be very beneficial. Here in Pelham, we currently run with an Engine and our Rescue. Do note however, any call that Pelham takes in on the Hutch is a Dual Response with MVFD. So when it boils down, you are putting a lot of trucks on a two lane highway which can then be very effectively shut down. There had been some brief discussions a few months back about sending the ladder out as well. They occured after the ladder had been out on the road when an MVA call came in. In that case, the Ladder responded instead of returning to quarters and having the FF jump on the Engine. I must say, the amount of space it blocked made everyone on scene breathe a little easier.

I guess its pretty obvious that he wasnt wearing a seatbelt. When will we learn.
