  1. Great for late night eats, and you are bound to see currency from someone you know.
  2. Eastchester is a combo department. They run 4 engines and 2 ladders out of 5 firehouses. E27 and 2302 are stationed on Main St, E29 is on Midland Ave with Spare L15, E30 is on Oregon Ave, L16 is on Underhill St. with Spare E28, and E31 and TL17 are on Wilmot Rd. As for manpower, I believe they run with 2 members on each rig. The north end, E31 and TL17 has a 5th member, an officer, that usually rides on the truck.
  3. Hey all, there has been much talk recently around my department of fixing up the old 1925 ALF that weve got. I was wondering what places other departments have gone to to help restore their antiques along with any other info people might have that would be beneficial. Thanks in advance.
  4. White Plains test is the same day. As of monday, there were about 170 signed up for the FDMV test.
  5. I was looking through some pics from a few years back the other day. Tanker 5 (the old one) was down in Pelham when the water main broke underneath the Lake Isle reservior( if you look on mapquest, it is labeled "Reservior No 1" located just west of exit 18W on the Hutchinson River Parkway).
  6. Back before the first merger, there was a "Fire District" that served Pelham and North Pelham. Go here: http://www.pelhamgov.com/news/00-00-93.html
  7. RWC130, the "over here" you are asking about is Austrailia.
  8. I shot the poor thing 908ft.
  9. Eastchester has their own frequencies, however, during the recent rainstorm they were also being toned out over 33.96. Pelham is toned out over 33.96, then they switch to 46.06. Pelham Manor is dispatched by the PD on 46.26. They tone out for volunteers on 33.96. (not through 60) Greenville is toned out on 33.96 but the verbal transmission from 60 control can be heard on both 33.96 as well as 46.26. Hartsdale is dispatched on their own on 46.26 I believe. (not through 60) I dont know the frequency, but Scarsdale is dispatched on the same channel that their PD and DPW use i believe. (Not through 60) Fairview will tone out to the stations on 33.96 first, then about 20 to 30 seconds later will tone out again over 46.26. (not through 60) Im pretty sure those are all correct, but please, people from the other departments fix if i am wrong.
  10. Looks like a great time had by all. Glad to see everyone working together from neighboring departments.
  11. Hey Doc, based on the date over here, id say you are a little early. Good one though. 8)
  12. R1, is that going to change anytime soon? I agree with Pudge, less hose on the ground, along with hoses of different sizes makes it easier to distinguish what is going where without having to trace its path from the engine to the other end.
  13. When does filing end for the position and how many are they planning on hiring? Any idea?
  14. Ah EX2354, there are a couple people who would like to see that old rig restored to its original state and in good running condition. I happen to be one of those people. Yes, it will cost a lot of money, but with some hard work and dedication, i think it might be able to be pulled off. (Dont hold me to any time length though, haha.)
  15. Look, i know for a fact that those guys did not drive themselves home that night. I also know that if they do happen to be out drinking, whether it be a little or a lot, they do not drive themselves at all. I did not mention bars in firehouses to see which ones still have them, etc. I mentioned it because of their location. Also, I'm sure that people do use those bars to get drunk, etc. What I was trying to say is that leaving a bar that is in some town or city drunk is less likely to bring an opinion from the public (if you are wearing your uniform, then sure there will be some people who decide to judge). If you leave a bar that is located at a firehouse drunk, then the public is much more likely to come to conclussions regardless of what the person is wearing. Yes, as LCFD968 said, people do go out to bars and get drunk. It shouldnt happen too often, but it does occur. What we as a whole need to do, is stress the correct way of handling ourselves so as to prevent the occurance of other problems.
  16. I too happen to have been in that same bar that night. I too agree with Alfons0x66. Sure, it may not be the right thing to do, but posting on here and asking people if they agree is wrong. Im sure Alfons and i are going to get heated responses because we arent fully on everyone elses side, but take a step back for a minute and look at the bigger picture. You werent always perfect and didnt always do things the correct way. So like alfons said, instead of sitting here and running on and on about how bad it is, lets start from the top and try to find a remedy. Not to mention, im sure there are plenty of firehouses that still contain bars in the basement or elsewhere on the property. Whats so different about some firefighters walkin out of a bar drunk and some firefighters walking out of the firehouse drunk? Absolutely nothing.
  17. Is it going to have more lights than 38M1?
  18. The following was in a memo handed out last night at the Training Center: 'The 204th Engineer Battalion will be arriving home from Iraq at the Peekskill Armory this Saturday, March 5 at 12 noon. The families of the returning soldiers are planning a Welcome Home party at the Armory. The Troops families are asking County Fire Departments, Police Departments and EMS Agencies, as well as American Legion members to join their celebration. We would like to have one truck or car from each department to line Washington Street (the Armory is 955 Washington) to salute the troops as they arrive home. The families greatly appreciate your participation and invite everyone to stay for the party planned at the Armory. Please come out to thank the troops and let them know our thoughts and prayers were with them while they were in Iraq and we celebrate their safe return.' It also listed a phone number and email address for more info, but i will not post that. PM me if you need it.
  19. I saw it, very strong and willing to take on new adventures. Anyone know if he was working today? If so, did he get sent to the 4 alarm?
  20. Occurred at approximately 9:22 am.
  21. Yeah, almost on monterey. It woulda been if our Ladder operator didnt get that water can in there as fast as he did. Great ladder placement though, no obstructions and woulda been right at the seat of the fire.
  22. now that you mention it, no. Pelham Manor puts out their nightly test on 33.96 however i still do not recall hearing it. And since 33.96 is listed as the "station alert" frequency for 60 control, i would think that the same should apply to it as applies to 46.26 during a signal 10-10
  23. To add to my original post, I dont recall Pelham Manor putting out their nightly pager test during this Signal 10-10. Now, that may seem trivial compared to the amount of departments that DID transmit their nightly pager tests, however Pelham Manor is about as far away from Peekskill as you can get and even they got the message. (If Pelham Manor did put out their test, then i am mistaken and this particular respnse should be ignored)
  24. I heard 60 sternly say that a 10-10 was still in effect when the nightly tests went out. Kinda shows a little disrespect to put out a test when theres a strong possibility that some one might need to use the frequency for much more important reasons. Nightly tests can be delayed, a mayday cant.
