Dadbo, Yes, i am aware of that. I find it more fun and exciting trying to track it down as it covers the streets of its district though.

Looks like im gonna have to get some rest sunday night and go hunting on monday...... Anyone wanna be my driver? 8)

Are the helmets being donated by Cairns and/or Triple A? Also, i should have Pelham's shield in the mail by the end of the week.
-
CAM, let me know when they are in. I'll make a special effort to get off my chair and crutch my way over to take some pics.
-
Im thinking it will be worth the extra wait. Id like to see more action scenes etc. Hopefully it will retain the complete reality feel that it had. I saw the first episode while in the hospital, and it was definitely a great show.

YR3, i just posted some of the really old locations in the other post (back in 1922). There has been a station at that location on Oak St since 1908. Im not sure when the others were built.
-
AJS, how old do you want to go? Back in 1922: Truck No. 1 (Originally Clinton Hook & Ladder Co- 1856) located at Fire Headquarters, 211 South 4th Ave. Truck No. 2 (Originally Columbia Hose Co. No. 2- 1894) located on Oak St across from Bleeker Street (present location of E2 and E4). Had been housed on North Railroad Ave near Mt Vernon Ave up until the name change in 1908. Engine Co. No. 1 (Originally Protection Engine Co. No. 1- 1874) located in the Village of West Mount Vernon. Engine Co. No. 2 (Originally Central Hose Co. #3- 1891) Eventually located on East Sidney Ave. (Im not sure if it was there back in '22, but that was the location for many years). Engine Co. No. 3 (Originally Mt. Vernon Steam Fire Engine Co. No. 1- 1889) located at Fire Headquarters on South Fourth Ave. Chemical No. 1 (Originally Neptune Engine Co. No. 1 of the Town of Eastchester for 50 years until 1860. It was then renamed Washington Engine Co. No. 1) located at 23 South Sixth Ave. Chemical No. 2 (Originally Niagara Hose Co. No. 2- 1888) located at 151 South Fulton Ave. Chemical No. 3 (Originally Independent Hose Co. No. 1- 1889 and then Independent Hose Co. No. 2- 1895) located at 446 South Fifth Ave. Chemical No. 4 (Originally Fire Patrol- 1886) location unknown.

just curious as to why they selected no cross lays. Also, who can attend, any fire personel with proper FD ID? Or do you need prior approval if you are from outside the host dept.
-
If you scroll down right after the last message in a post, there is a little note that says the following: All times are GMT - 4 Hours That means that the times used as "post times" are Greenwich Mean Time minus (-) 4 hours. Im not sure why it is this way, but i personally think it doesnt matter. Messages are posted as they are sent in. Those that need a time for reference, such as IA posts, include them in the body of the message.

CAM, do i have to dig out my grandfathers old books and such? Im sure if i were to look long enough i could tell you how many they had back in the 20s. But thats for another time.
-
Sounds good. I'll get one to you as soon as i can.
-
Just to clarify, you want the shield that gets attached to the helmet correct? Also, im guessing you want a shield from each company within a dept right? If such is the case, i will see what i can do down here in Pelham.

Remember, I still hear them both on 33.96 though. Is there a possibility that it is simulcast the first time and then retoned on 33.96?
-
I know they are dispatched twice (or at least it is repeated), and i usually get them both on 33.96. Im not sure if it is simulcasted on 46.26, but there is a strong possibility that that is the case.
-
Come on Clemente. First you need help pushing the rig to get it started. Now you cant even post a pic of yourself. I thought you were an officer, stuff like this should be second nature.
-
Sounds like great news for Mt Vernon. Cant wait for it to be in the city making runs.
-
Sounds great 648. I rode good ol' E5 from Pelham. After, i had my chauffers wheel me around the carnival. Too bad i forgot my sharpie, otherwise id have a completely covered cast.
-
I didnt see anyone either. i know ive got a broken ankle and leg and had my juniors pushing me around, but i didnt see a Bravo gathering. Maybe someone got a bunch of pics and can post them though.
-
Ex2354, just wondering where you heard this information. Im down there all the time and am always in discussions with anyone who is around and have yet to hear anything about this. Please, any other info youve got feel free to share. If true, I think it would make a great addition to the dept.
-
new rochelle FD and EMS is dispatched by 60 control, so any live feed from 60 ( that includes 33.96) would cover New Ro. Scan CT does have a live feed of 60, but if i remember correctly, it is off of one of the 46.26 repeaters.

Then comes the question: Which ladder will FDMV get rid of? Will it be the current TL3, or the old Mack CF TL1? It would sure be a shame to see them dispose of the Mack. But then again. they might surprise us all and run 3 ladders. (Sure would be fun to see).
-
Not a bad idea. Id hate for you all to have to wait around for me though, we are way back near the end of the parade.
-
FDMV currently runs one Tower Ladder- TL3 (using their number system) out of the 3rd St station and one straight stick ladder- L2 out of headquarters on Lincoln Ave. They also have another Tower ladder as a spare, an old Mack CF, that is Truck 1.
-
Pelham Manor is still a non-60 dept.
-
Yes, this is most likely the same place. I dont know many of the old names, so "Texas" doesnt ring a bell. There is a bar the runs the entire length of the restuarant. There is a single aisle right behind the seats that is wide enough for travel in one direction. (Its a squeeze to get past others coming towards you or just standing there). The grill is kind of hidden right at the front window with the cash register a few feet inside the door. The chili is a must have.
