Dispatchers completing their dispatch with their numbers sounds much more profesional then someone just giving out the address of a run. Just sounds so much better.
-
Um, down here in Pelham, yeah, we just have ONE.

Good find Doug E

some of the older Audi's had the battery under the back seat.

Cant get it to work, any other way to access it from the site?
-
I thought that the Rescue and Squad companies and also the SOC companies carried gear, not sure though.
-
JBE, If Im thinking right, that would mean the engine would be down the block someplace with a hydrant and would just be pumping water down the street to the actual fire scene? Why not just spec out a smaller rig?

648, You and I both know i prefer the ladder. EMS Buff, you must be thinking of the Pelham Manor Antiques, and in case you wanted to know one of them did break down before the parade and had to be push-started. Ask EClemente about that. And EClemente, You and I both know I dont need hoses to sit on, I just need the ladder to get up on the hose bed to repack after the job.

Interesting Article in this months Fire Chief Magazine: http://firechief.com/mag/firefighting_call...enter_conflict/ Not entirely on topic but close.

Seth, Im thinking that its going to station 3 on Third St, where the current TL 3 and TL 1 are housed. Im sure EWFAC will confirm this.

Great post, something that should be posted in everyones firehouse and Ambulance Station. Most of us should go and sit in a chair at 60 for a few hours and see what really goes on before we even get toned out.

Watched the whole thing, i watched it twice to make sure i wasnt dreaming and almost got sucked in a third time.

As a kid, I always remembered the Mamaroneck parade. Always tons of people tons of trucks, Vendors everywhere, the carnival.

Where do you find these things. I thought I had a lot of time on my hands, guess I was wrong.

Bravest's format was much like cops, quick 6 to 8 minute clips of fires, although some of the greater alarm fires saw more airtime I believe.

I think that someone had a bad breakup with one of us. Too bad she has to demean the rest of us.

very interesting editorial. Heres a few thoughts. Would this person volunteer to go into a burning building? How bout his home is on fire, Im sure he would want 20 emergency vehicles and 100 men there to prevent as much damage as they could. Ok so some accidents dont have injuries, but what about the ones where people are injured? Better to have people already on their way or at the scene instead of trying to fight through the rubbernecking traffic who want to get a good look. Maybe if drivers actually got out of our way while we going to one of these accidents we would be able to park and protect everyone while still allowing traffic to pass. The writer brings some good points as to how the public actually sees us, but maybe he should ride along sometime and see that it is joe public that causes most of our problems.

Any idea what channel its going to be airing on in the area? I enjoyed it when it was on, saw some interesting calls and they visited a good number of cities.

Zero tolerance for the people who say "Not in my backyard." If it wasnt there when you moved there, fine, but dont try and close something that was there before you moved. Your the idiot who moved there in the first place, you could have picked anyplace in the country and you picked here, so deal with it.

I thought it was pretty good. Id like to see more footage with body cameras, show people that you really cant see anything. Id also like to see regular alarms that turn out to be malfunctions so that people see what we actually do other than fight fires. Overall has definate potential we'll just have to wait and see what the rest of the season brings.

Sq288_HM1, I havent seen any sights containing all of their rigs, your best bet is www.nycfire.net and click on the action photos. also try the link to On The Job N.Y available from that sight.
