this storm had better not bring any mixing rain...I'm still upset over the lack of snow early this week and this weekend
-
In the second to last picture on the spy shot page, what is the compartment with the white cabintry in in the back behind the roll up door?
-
I hope not. It seems like this will be all snow, and a good amount!!!!!
-
Hoss my man, more snow for Friday! And we might actually get it this time. The storm should be closer to us, although there could be a rain/snow mix which I absolutly hate!

Those municipalities do NOT have paid drivers. They are CAREER FIREFIGHTERS.

as I wake up and start my (snowless) day...I am disappointed.

not knowing anything else, it makes some sense to me from a legal standpoint, eveything being put on hold.

I was excited as I read the first post, but as of 1715 on channel 7, looks like its only going to be an inch or two here...mabye five out the Island. But mabye more end of this week/early next week! LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!!!!

But wouldn't that old list with that candidate have expired by now? Or has legal action changed that?
-
I'll bet that's the last time he did that...

I AM NOT LOOKING TO START ANY DEBATE OVER PAID/VOLLY......but.... Am I the only one who thinks that sooner rather then later there will be paid FFs, probably EMTs/paramedics out on the island in combination departments?

Anyone have run stats for the vollies?
-
Ok so I was down in Eastchester last night, in the Chester Heights area for those who know, and around 0115 I heard a fire horn go off and then I heard the sirens on the responding units. I've heard this before. Does anyone know where this horn is? I've also heard it go off at 1800. I'm guessing Pelham??? thanks!!!!
-
Well, I kinda asked my own question wrong. I was thinking in terms of what does each company have. I know its one Captain in charge, but how many Lieutenants under? Also, who is the tiller man in a tiller company? BTW: Squad 288, thanks for that reply. Didn't know that about the Trucks running short.

Does the FDNY stand by at fireworks displays? I think that someone from Fire Prevention has to be there, but what about an engine company? If so, is it the local first-due engine or an overtime unit charged to whoever is doing the display? thanks
-
So this got me thinking: what is a full company for FDNY? one captain and 3 or 4 lieutenants?
-
Anyone know which of these combo depts. have paid chiefs and which have vol. chiefs?
-
thanks guys for the replies...I was thinking Pelham because I heard the sirens following the horn. Shantz, does the horn just sound the signal that their is an alarm somewhere or does it sound differently for different alarms?
-
anyone have run stats for them?
-
no they got a new first piece back in 2001
