  1. Glad to see some forward progress on these engines. They must still be about a year out before new engines are delivered for the companies. Some of those old Seagrave engines will be well beyond worn out by then. What happens if the demo engines don't pass the evaluation? Back to the drawing board?
  2. RIP Captain. Thank you for your hospitality and brotherhood when we visited from Virginia.
  3. Not a big fan of the roto-ray, but a lot of departments here in Virginia use them and they are effective warning lights. The FDNY seems to like to change up the type of light bars used on their apparatus. I wonder if they are going to settle on this one for awhile. I guess we'll see what is on the new engines from KME. I understand the KME's will not be delivered until fall 2013, so the engine spare fleet will be rusted out and held together by duct tape also.
  4. Has the FDNY settled on this pod style light bar for all their new apparatus, or are they just evaluating them?
  5. I'm coming up to the Seminar from Virginia, as we have for the last 6 or 7 years. I am a patch trader and will have a bunch with me from the department I work for in Virginia. If there are any patch traders out there coming to the seminar, please bring one to trade. I will be with the Lake Monticello, Virginia group. We are usually at the front of the room at the end of the Seminar to grab a picture with the speaker. Also, look for Rich Constantino, Elmsford Ex-Chief, and he can send you in my direction. Looking forward to another great seminar and trip to New York! Steve Elliott Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire Department Albemarle County, Virginia Fire Rescue
  6. Greetings all, I have been visiting EMTBravo for a few years and have enjoyed reading all the post and learning from the brothers up north. My name is Steve and I am a career Battalion Chief in Albemarle County, VA. I am currently the Shift Commander for B Shift; yes, I am a "B-Shifter"! I am also a Life Member of the Lake Monticello Fire Department in Fluvanna County Va. Every year I make the trip to the Andy Fredricks Seminar in Elmsford. We always have a great time and the hospitality from the brothers is outstanding. We will be heading north again in February and I'm am looking forward to the trip. I have been in Fire and EMS for 33 years, and had the opportunity to spend 12 years on an airmedical helicopter crew, which was a great time in my career. In my off time I am a part-time musician, play golf poorly and enjoy spending time with my wife and 3 kids. I also just bought my first boat. It is true: boat stand for BREAK OUT ANOTHER THOUSAND! Looking forward to getting to know some of you on the board. Stay safe brothers.
