Lake Carmel's open house cancelled due to fire truck leaving for Mississippi- Open house to be rescheduled.

Lake Carmel FD Explorers are also donating some of their spare gear to go down with the truck.

WOW- mahopac didn't win best overall or 2nd best overall? This is the only parade all season that this occured- too bad their Chief's last parade was not a best overall parade.

Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services are looking to fill a trailer of supplies to send down. Fire equipement and personal needs- clothes, toiletries, food are needed.

My thoughts and prayers with the Port Chester Fire department family. Houck will be greatly missed amoung the explorer community as well.

Our department allows members to purchase their own gear, as long as it is OSHA approved and meets all dept safety guidelines. Our explorers do not purchase their own gear.

4th Annual Explorer Training/campout weekend to be held Aug 6 and 7th at Putnam County Training center. Over 9 posts from 6 counties registered.

We had over 100 explorers in attendance for the weekend, new friends were made and old friends were reunited. Thank you to all Putnam County dept who helped in the training. Hope all that attended had fun, and learned something.

Do we know the parade route? Rumor has it, it was changed several times due to construction on main st.

Putnam County has had close to 4 classes this year, and are currently holding a day 2 week course. Often the classes fill up quickly, have your dept request to "host" a training class, this usually garantees that members from your dept get in. To be waiting 3 yrs is a long time, our department gives a time limit of I believe 2 years to take the class or you are dropped from the roles, I know many other dept give a deadline of 1 year.

The Lake Carmel FD Explorers will be having a car wash at the Lake Carmel FD on Rt 52 Sun July 10th. $5 for cars, $10 for all other vehicles. 12-3pm

Lake Carmel willl be on standby around the lake tonight, as well as Carmel Ambulance for tonight's festivities.

We will be having a meeting in a few weeks to discuss evolutions for the weekend-does anyone have ideas that can help us teach MCI? Each evolution doesn't have to be the same, but all need to be about an hr long and interesting to hold 20 explorers attention spans- thanks
