The asprin protocol was sent out several months ago, and as per the state- emts that do not have the update can not ride ambulances w/ asprin on it. We had our state inspection this week and that's what we were told

We have had it for about a year, and it's a fire police vehicle, we also just got a new 17-1-1 vehicle

Richie has been my right hand man on the ambulance for 7 yrs now, i will miss him greatly, Rest in Peace my friend- you'll be greatly missed

Just and FYI just came back from Montour Falls for Explorer Weekend to find out that Jim Burns will be leaving as the State Fire Admin guy at the end of the year. It in unsure who will be replacing him and what his objectives are. Right now, Jim Burns is a very big supporter of the explorers and supports their weekends, don't know if the new admin guy will, or what the budget for training will look like.

I ran into one of the milford muster committee members up at the State Chiefs show, the muster is on with no rumor of cancelling it

Milford muster is always the weekend after labor day weekend, they are usually slow in getting info on the web.

With this new proposal, 2 als ambulances will have an emt staffed on it, this will provide the volunteers an emt if they only have a driver. The volunteer ambulance will respond driver alone and meet the paid emt- the paid emt will then ride on the volunteer ambulance

The County has received bids from 4 different companies, no decision has been made yet

6pm it starts, and $5 for adults, $3 for children at mahopac falls fd

Mahopac Falls will be holding a Pasta night April 29th for a member that was burned out of her condo a few weeks ago.

Dover fire dept hosts an extrication competition every year in the fall

Lake Carmel FD Explorers will be hosting their 2nd fundraiser at Applebee's in Brewster on Feb 20th from 4-9pm, they receive 10% off all bills that participate in program. All money raised will go towards new uniforms and training at Montour Falls. Last year they made over $500, thanks to all that helped.

has anyone seen the new power-pro powered operated stretcher? Styker and Ferno are making them now. Our dept is looking into replacing our 1 person Ferno w/ a power operated Stryker. Any imput if these are better then the current manual stretchers would be appreciated.

just a reminder next mon is the fundraiser, come out w/ some friends and help the explorers go to Montour falls

Our Jrs don't take ff1 until they are in the dept, but we do concentrate on the Scott pack- maintance, and mask confidence, ect. Basic scene support skills are also a good foundation as well

We recieved a nice donation towards EMS, looking at new stair chair, stretcher and pulse ox/co monitor

Was in 4th grade, my music teacher had applied for the position. Found out that her family lived near Christa McAuliffe, and met her did an interview and got an autographed pict, which was copied and given to the entire elementary school. I remember watching it in school as well.
