  1. Using a BCT 246T and found that you can use both North and South together. See attached screen shot for setup suggestions. You need to set up the Motorola Fleet plan correct to get it to work. In addition, if you add the ID's you can lock out the bus fleet. screen_shot.doc
  2. An interesting part of the law states to "secure a permit" but to my knowledge no such permit exists. Is anyone aware of this "permit" and where you could secure one? It seems that the law states that one can be provided where the user resides in a county with a county police department. It would seem that Westchester County PD could either issue the permit or a blanket permit to departments similar to the blue and green light cards that agencies hand out. On the other hand, if you do secure a "Westchester County or a town" permit and leave that juristiction does that then make the scanner illegal since you are now in an area not covered by your permit? This law looks like a pandora's box the way it is written.
  3. Photos are not really that bad. I have had the same clarity issue on occasion. Two seperate issues arose: 1 are you using a multi point focus or single point. With single point it focuses on only one area of the piture and when you have ones with depth like the 3rd one down notice the front of the truck is clear and everything else starts to fuzz out further away the worse it gets. Second is to make sure you are using an action shot mode to speed up your shutter speed to get rid of blur from moving objects. What camera are you using? PS. On a side note - thank you for noting Peekskill OEM onscene.
  4. JBE does the call sign L 51 acting 53 sound familiar. That has been there cover all along, make someone an "acting" unit and it is covered even if another area is stripped.
  5. Another King Bloomberg idea. City Island is a 3 minute response time for the next closest ladder and comprised mostly of wood frame houses put so close together that every fire is an exposure problem. As usually this is more than likely a decision by a group of pencil pushers looking at numbers on a spread sheet and no real grasp of reality. Bean counters: No fires in an area = No need to resources. The Response Community: No fires in an area = We are overdue for the big one.
