If this is true, this will definatley be an awesome plus for the department. This will free up sector cars and allow them to respond to other calls as they are often sent an EMS calls and other calls are held.

I must say that being a young member to a vol dept, I give a lot of credit to "paid guys." Also being a vol, I cant stand when fellow members say dont tell the paid guys you're a volunteer, they hate volunteers. That, as previously stated, can only be applied to the rare few, as it is a lot of paid guys are vollies where they live. I also want to point out 2 recent volunteer-paid interactions: Yonkers FD responding to Mt. Pleasant and Elmsford FD relocating for Fairview FD. This is how things should always be. Just because they're paid and we're volunteers doesn't mean we do things differently.

I went to MA over the weekend, i forgot my NEXTEL here in NY. I figured, what the hell if I cant use it down here, I definately wont be able to use it in the sticks. But of course, of the 4 other people I was with, 3 had T-mobile and no service and 1 had NEXTEL with pretty good service. The one time I couldve actually used my NEXTEL and i forgot it.

Just to throw it in, Stiloski's Towing in Tarrytown has an ex FDNY Rescue as his heavy recovery truck. Has Jaws of Life on board. I know that there are pics of it somewhere here on EMTBravo. Not sure which Rescue it used to be though.

So far we're lookin good. 43 wins and 26 losses, that is only 68 games. How many do we play each year, 160 some odd games? That is still almost 100 games to go. We cant get cocky now, cuz you know it will come right back to us if something goes wrong. As long as we stay healthy and no one tries to pull any superhero plays, we have a good shot. As long as our hurlers our doing well and the rest of the team backs them up on the field and when we're up at bat, we'll be awesome. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the Mets, but it is still a little early in the year to be making playoff predictions. Greenburgh got a new Crown Vic 2, Car 66. Also switched to LED lightbars. I dont like the flash patterns on the bar though. Only the outer lights flash in a normal pattern (4 flashes on 1 side, then 4 on the other) the other lights only flash 1 lighthead at a time and scan through each lighthead, not like the outer lights.

Go to My Controls when you sign in. Under the Menu tab, you will see Personal Profile, in that category click on Edit Avatar Settings. There, you will be able to upload your own picture or one of the base gallery pictures.

I saw a ConEd "Emergency Response" Tahoe the other day with a flashing blue light on the back right above the arrow stick, is this the same believe and is it legal?

Wow. I'm at a loss for words. Never seen anything like it. Seems like it might become a hassle.

What is a good shutter speed to use when trying to get a shot of a emergency vehicle with its lights on. So far, my guess is that I've used a shutter speed that is too slow because my shots have been blury. When I use automatic, most of the time you can't see that the lights are on. I appreciate all of the advice that anyone puts forth. Andrew

I have a Radio Shack Pro-96. It can pick up basically any type of system. As far as legality, I thought it was legal to have in your car because my Greenburgh PD advisors told us that they were only illegal if you were using a scanner to commit a crime.
