Not Sure if it counts as lower westchester, but the #5 from E&E Gourmet in Tarrytown on Broadway is awesome. It is chicken cutlets, fresh mozzarella, musclun lettuce, roasted red peppers, and a garlic mayo. Delicious! Cant wait to come home from college to have one. Tarrytown Deli in the Bridge Plaza Shopping Center is good, too.

That's a good one Rob!

yea, I agree with you totally. I thought it was just odd that there were to metallic green rigs. My truck is silver over metallic blue, so I'm no stranger to wierd colors.
-
Sorry res6cue, I just realized that the pics I were looking at were of the Haverstraw FD's Lady Warren Hose Co 5. But what's up with the green rigs in Rockland?
-
What I wouldn't do to have that now. Reminds me of "Hooks" from the old Tarrytown FD parades. I remember seeing it when I was a kid. Last time I can remember seeing it was in 2000 at Riverside's Hose Centennial. For those who dont know about it, the cab was a airport transporter type thing, not sure what they're called. Had a working tiller and I think the ladder worked too. The driver would do wheelies with it. The thing was so loud, it was freakin awesome. I know it had working lights, but I dont think it had a "baby Q."

From what I have seen of other pics, it used to be a front line piece, but was replaced and is still possessed by the Nyack FD. And my guess is that was the color it was when it was in service. I'm sure there is someone from Nyack that could comment.

I may be mistaken, but I think the VTL was amended to allow PD's to use blue lights rear facing only (although there are most certainly are department's that use blue forward facing)

Dont forget not to drive piles of leaves!

Thanks for all of the input guys! res6cue, I must say that I like the oscilaser type lights as well. On the back of both TVAC's rigs, there is one center mounted above the loading doors, 81-B1's in amber and 81-B2 is red. I feel that between the 4 halogen flashers and the oscilaser, there is a lot of light. However, I hoped that when we got our new rig two years ago, we would have gotten the halogen rotators that were on the demo we saw because the strobes that are on our rigs can barely be see, especially during the day. And seeing as how we respond to the thruway and TZ Bridge, it seems that that would make sense to me.

I must say it looks really sweet and isnt overloaded with lights all over, and I lile the color filters on the lightbar.

In my ambulance corps, you cant ride until you are 17. When you ride calls, the crew chief will put your name on the run and CFR number if you have one. Only EMTs are allowed to write PCR's
-
res6cue is correct. you have to 18 to become an EMT in NY, you can become a CFR at 16, though. In CT, you can become an EMT at 16.

OK, so i have to admit that I LOVE LED lights. They are awesomely bright and energy efficient, and have better flash patterns then strobes. But recently, I have noticed that most new apparatus and chief's cars are having more and more LED's all over. At some point, doesnt someone say enough is enough. If you cant be seen with 1 pair of LED's in the grill, a dual talon on the dash, and a lightbar, is it really necessary to but another pair of LED's in the grill, LED's in the foglights and another dashlight? This is just an observation and isnt aimed at anyone specifically. And dont get me wrong, I love LED lights and they are a great asset, but at some point, I think we have to draw a line.

I glad to see this happen, but I hope that this doesnt start up something else for all of our young men and women in iraq.

I think its a great idea.

Anyone know the exact date of the MVPD test? And has the filing deadline past?

The quarters of Riverside Hose - E80 is located at the corner of Franklin and White Streets. The Tarrytown FTC is located in between the Striped Bass Restaurant and Losee Field. You have to cross the "H-Bridge." If you're coming down Main Street go up the bridge, left across, left down and follow the bridge down the roadway. It will be on your right hand side. Look for a green fence.

Seth, thanks for an awesome website. It provides a lot of good information to a lot of good people. In high school, I learned how to pass time in the really boring classes when we got to use the computers. And now that I am away at college, I can keep up with things that are going on at and around home. Thanks a lot! Don't let the select few bring you down. And thanks to all the moderators for keeping control in the forums and adding the constructive criticism and information to the forums. You guys are great!

Is that necessarily a bad thing? I just happened to stumble upon the old post that day and used the info for my post.
