  1. Any one know of any police supply stores in the area with decent prices? The only one that I really know of is New England Sportswear. Thanks for your help.
  2. Irvington FD - Marine 4(Diving Capabilities) Tarrytown FD - Marine 5 (Pumping and EMS capabilities) Sleepy Hollow FD - Marine 7 (Pumping and EMS capabilites)
  3. While we are on the topic of roto-rays, in the past the discussion of the hazards of a roto-ray spinning and hitting someone have been brought up. If I'm not mistaken, the roto-ray only spins when the apparatus is in gear. The other day, I saw a pic of a truck that had a roto-ray mounted above the windshield of the truck. Just that this was a good solution to what has been discussed in the past.
  4. Here's a slideshow that depicts some interesting and unique, as well as a some mock apparatus, apparatus from around the world. Although it says it 9 mins long, its only about 6 mins. Sorry Everyone!!! I hate it when that happens. Thanks Izzy!

  6. The Mahopac ladder looks like it was quite an odd sight. Seems like the seats were pretty low to the ground.
  7. How many county C&O zones are there? And what general area does each one cover? I've seen pictures of C&O trucks that have PD's on, are most C&O teams staffed by PD? Thanks for the help.
  8. The chief's vehicles, as well as all other FD apparatus and equipment, belong to the village and not the FD, therefore we can't touch them.
  9. I know back in they day, they did run a two door blazer as Car 6, which is currently the old 2463. Car 6 is the fleet mechanic's truck.
  10. Very Nice, I think its the first ambulance from around here that I've seen with reflective chevrons.
  11. As First Due said, along with the unit number and pct number, the NYPD patch is not on the door yet.

  15. I believe they do have some left. I know that they were being sold in front of SHFD HQ at the St Patricks Day parade. They also have models lettered as Sleepy Hollow with the current SHFD patch on the door. At the parade they were being sold 1 for $20 or 2 for $30. I bought the North Tarrytown version, it looks great.
  16. Tarrytown doesnt have a dive team, unless I missed something while I've been at school.
  17. I cant wait. I remember coming home from school and watching it on re-runs, that was my favorite show. My friend and I would ride our bikes around pretending to be Ponch and John. I remember staying up one New Year's Eve watching a marathon. Cant wait!
  18. As far as I know, Greenburgh PD doesnt have a dive team, just a marine unit. However, Mt. Pleasant PD does have a dive team. I also believe that Irvington FD has divers, not sure.
  19. Fairview also uses similar striping, but I believe it is blue and white.
  20. I take it the new engine will be replacing 171, or will it be assigned to 169 or 170 and then that truck be assigned to 171?
  21. Looking at pics of FDNY vehicles on line, I saw a truck that said "Emergency Crew" on it. It was mounted on a Ford body and had what looked like a mini utility body on the back. What are Emergency Crews and how do they work?
  22. RIP, my condolences to the family and the PD. On a side note, why wasnt the suspect in a caged car?
  23. There is also a small depot right off of the Eastview exit on the Saw Mill, right next to the Tarrytown Lakes. The one in Yonkers is on Saw Mill River road right by the overpass that takes you to Odell Ave and the A&P.
