i remember hearing a story of someone who rigged the water hose to spray a mist over someone elses car so when it came time to go, there was a nice coat of ice covering his car. the guy had to chip his way into the car and then pull it into the bay to defrost his car

This is a matter that hits close to home for me. About for years ago, I joined the GPD Explorer Post. Prior to leaving for college, I was very active in the post. The explorer program is method for many of Greenburgh's youth to gain an interest in law enforcement. The program is run by some of Greenburgh's absolute finest, currently under the direction of Sgt. Gramaglia, P.O. Dandreano, Det. Schulze, and P.O. Rashad. The explorer post works closely with the Community Affairs Division. We would attend the 3-on-3 basketball programs, assist with traffic details, and the Greenburgh's Child Safety Passenger Team, who install the most child car seats in the state, among many other things. It will be very sad to see this program bite the dust. Through my participation, I was one of 30 explorers nationwide to attend the 2005 National Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, sponsored by the US Army Military Police at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. The explorer program can, and has, provided great training opportunities to Greenburgh's youth, much of which will hopefully shape the way they lead there life. Say it ain't so Mr. Feiner.

I remember my dad was taking a patient to White Plains ER lights and sirens and was forced to stop to allow a funeral procession to cross the roadway by a WPPD motorcycle unit.

I just watched "Most Shocking: Dangerous Drivers" on Court TV. The first two segments were from Westchester and Rockland. The first incident was a chase in what seems to be northern Westchester on 684 of a strecth limo by NYSP. At one point the guy drove the limo backwards through traffic when he lost his gears. Does anyone know the story to it? I remember seeing it on here but I don't know where it is. The second incident was a road rage incident in Spring Valley. After being involved in an MVA, the driver who seems to be to blame attempts to run down the driver of the other vehicle. After hoping the median and going airborne, a bystander who appears to have a portable in his hand takes the keys out of the ignition. The two drivers proceed to square off as PD arrives. Its pretty wierd seeing something so close to home on national tv. It goes to show that everybody out there has a video camera and are watching everything first responders do.

I stumbled upon the first video on YouTube.

I just watched this segment on the History Channel. I feel a little more sympatheitic to these firefighters now. There were some clips that were not shown on the video that are in the segment. These firefighters don't seem to be taking it as a joke on TV. Also, the FF throwing the flare was a 2nd Assistant Chief.

Granted the video isn't long enough, but it almost looks like they're going stop once they clear the intersection.
-
I'd like to see someone show up to an alarm in one of those.
-
Boston Video I saw this video at the fire house and watched in disbelief. I feel that way too many precautions were not followed and that this could've cost several firefighters their lives. What do you think?

Hit or miss. Either it times out or loads up fine.

Marine 5 is manned by any member of the deptartment who wishes to be on it and obtains required certification. I'm not sure what kind of boat it is off hand but I'll find out. I Know it just had a new pump installed at the beginning of the boating season.
