What is the point???? FF drinking in public? FF drinking in public while off duty? or is it drinking in public while off duty in uniform? If they are off duty and drinking at a local pub and not responding to an alarm whats the problem? If they act like idiots then by all means bash them but if they are chugging a beer, like they are in the picture, whats the problem? This always seems to be the case around here we make mountains out of mole hills. Bash the FF that are out drunk driving killing and hurting people. Now I am probable going to get bashed for what i have said here (as I always do) but there is nothing wrong with this picture. Two innocent guys having a good time after a parade, funeral or whatever they attended.

What happens if they don't????? You remember correct JBE.But that is for everybody, I am looking for just EMT's. I am assuming tha is for all members. What is the difference "Good Standing" or not?

Question for all the Ambulance corp and Fire Dept.'s that run an ambulance..... Do you have a Criteria for EMT's to stay active in your dept. ??? Do they have to make a certain amount of calls, in house drills (not EMT classes that are mandatory to stay as an EMT) and/or meetings???? Is it in writing if there is something in place?If so is it agreed upon when they join? Just a few questions, looking at how other departments handle this issue. You can PM me if you want

NEVER DID I STATE THE WEBMASTER IS DOING A BAD JOB!!!!! SO PLEASE DON'T PUT WORD IN MY MOUTH. THIS SITE IS AWESOME. The bashing is some of the members comments to other members. its not called for. The topic started with a question and now its off on a tangent. That has been happening more and more on the different topics. For the most part we know whats right and wrong. Training comes first and formost. For any department to put a parade in front of training there has to be another reason for said accusation. But when someone posts " if the department goes to more parades than fires then......" That is uncalled for. There are some very small depts in the area that might not have all but one structure fire a year and because they go to more parades they shouldn't be called firefighter, thats bashing. Zeer, this has been going on for a while now (bashing for someone's opinion). If its right or wrong those people shouldn't be "BASHED".

THERE FAMILY DON'T DESERVE BENEFITS? OR AN OLD TIME MEMBER WHO SMOKED THREE PACKS OF CIGS A DAY AND HE/SHE DIES FROM LUNG CANCER!!! PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES............BUT THEY STILL DESERVE HONOR AND PRIDE i just counted 35 posts in a row that know one was in favor of the action. Everyone was on the same page "Don't do it". Bring this info back to your department and change it. There wasn't anyone backing down, everybody was in a rant because of a kid or two. Some one stated " the host department should provide buses to shuttle". Great Idea, for all the department that host parades that have been talking on this topic bring on the buses.

Wow----- I have seen it all or should I say read it all............ Its unbelievable that it is such an arguement. You guys are getting so worked up over a few people (kids) fighting back. Its obvious that in most departments its a NO NO iwill tell you this if that rig is going to drive me from one end of the parade to the beginning were my department is going to step off because I brought my PV there and the only spot open is on that back step I am taking it. And there is nobody in here that hasn't or wouldn't DO THE SAME. The problem I saw was the departments coming down Saw Mill Parkway with guys on top. Now that is crossing the line........ Responding to a call riding up on pump panel or hose bed is crossing the line!!!!!! Driving in traffic bringing guys from one end of the parade to the other, COME ON!!!! For Pete Sake we run into burning buildings, stand in the middle of the highway at a PIAA..... Stuff Happens and nomatter what we do to prevent its going to happen, If you don't feel comfortable riding the step get off, if you don't feel comfortable riding the hosebed GET OFF!!!! Please don't misunderstand me " THERE IS NO PLACE FOR YOU TO BE DURING THE RESPONSE TO A CALL THEN IN THE JUMPSEAT OR CAB OF YOUR TRUCK, ENGINE OR RESCUE"
