  1. 60 control, 40 control, 45 control,etc..... They should all be dispatching FAST to any big incident. According to NFPA it is requirement to have fully equipped crew on location incase of an emergency. So why not have it automaticly dispatched?
  2. Where in the Westchester Putnam area has the best prices for the duty shirts with embroidering? ](*,) I have been looking all over and if anybody has a good website that would be good also.
  3. We will be ordering soon, I'll let you know.

  5. Thank you, P'ville 2372 and CG206 for the refferal. I went Rescuestuff and saw Greg. Great prices and quailty. It's good to have someone close to home. Thank you again!
  6. Makes sense. thats why it so important for a good dispatch because ever second counts.
  7. 100% right irishfire.Call them and if not needed put them back in service. I would rather be in route to a call as FASTeam and canceled then not being called and have to be needed. (if that makes any sense).
  8. I did fail to mention that when Brewter was put to work, East Fishkill's FAST was called to the scene at our recent structure. emt301, Any FAST dispatched for 1st alarm? or do they wait until 2nd alarm?
  9. It has been 7 months since the last post has been made on this subject. I figured lets visit it again. Is there still a problem or has it gotten better? Being involved with several structure fires in the last few years (exept for the last one because I was working- no comments Ejs1810) The standard practice is to call a FASTeam to a structure fire sometimes they are not needed and sometimes they get put to work (like at the recent fire in Lake Carmel) and it is always reassuring that they(Brewster FASTeam)are there. As an Officer it is good feeling that someone is watching over my men/women and myself and they are there if needed. Our Team has been in service for approx. 8 months and we have only been called once. With Patterson, Carmel , East Fishkill, Mahopac and Kent you would think that after Neuner and all the deaths that we read about or hear in training classes that it would be more in the back of everybodies mind.WHY? Why is it not automatic? I know a room and content fire is "routine"but in this day and age there is no routine.
  10. Just to back up Nick944, We have two tags one stays on the truck so they know which truck you came on. Our second tag goes to the accountablity officer if we have to go into the "Hot Zone". He then clips to a board according to where you are going on the scene. If you are going inside 2nd floor thats were the tag goes. If you are doing outside ventilation he/she knows about it. The second tag is given back when back in quarters.

  15. I am trying to remember. Mamaroneck ave. Apartment building right near Boston Post rd. 1 fatality. I was an explorer in Mamaroneck at the time. I can't remember the year, 1985 maybe. Winter time. I stole my mothers car to go help out.We were there for 14 hrs or so.(Mom wasn't so happy, I was punished for about a year).
  16. In Lake Carmel the members respond to the fire house with the exception of the Chief, the 2 asst. Chiefs and the 3 Captains or an EMT if an Ambulance call.

  19. 684 north bound/Interstate 84 @ exit 9E. Brewster out there almost 2 times a day.
  20. Sorry for your departments loss. My prayers go out to the family and friend of Mr. Bleakley.
  21. Lake Carmel Keeps theres on first due engine. If the F.A.S.T. gets dispatched we take it off and take with our FAST vehicel(rescue). There has been numerous occasions when we needed for possible drowning victim or lost person calls where the first due never responded and we just took it with us. To have it a Chiefs vehicle I think it is outregous. Even if they get delayed a little bit it could be the difference between life and death.
