Here are a couple from our stay at the Miami Airport Hilton in 2009. They would come right up to the pool area, and the walkways near the water.

Its possible that it ran out of fuel. With the UN in town resources are stretched thin, and may have stayed out a little too long.

its the poor man's light tower, always park under a street light. Hahaha JBE, anytime. The pictures turned out great.

Just read on another board that a liver was found, and that he was in surgery earlier tonight. Just the first step in a long recovery, but I wish him and his family the best.

one cup of coffee and the touch screen is kaput. It would never last in the city.

A lot of that, EVOC, drivers license checks, age requirements are put forward by insurance companies. It has nothing to do with being a volunteer. Some departments have been checking driver license for years. I know when I first started driver training in PLeasantville, I could not be approved as a driver until my record came back from Albany, (way back in 1993). If you are accident prone, or just unsafe why should you be entrusted to drive a several hundred thousand dollar vehicle often weighing several tons, paid or volunteer. Believe me I have ridden with older guys with CDLs that scared the crap out of me, and I have ridden with 20 year olds that I could trust, especially when the stuff hit the fan. Some people just can not and should not be driving.

I think this is the best lead so far. Look closely at the bumper on the officer side. A similar bumper sticker appears in their picture as well as mine. Unfortunately I no longer have a unedited photo ( I reduced the pixel size for storage.)

Found this 1947 Chevrolet marked 'Moorhead FD' 'Community fire truck' in a gas station in Poughkeepsie,NY today. In my usual rush I forgot to look for any builders tags on the body. A Google search revealed a Moorhead, MN department, but no mention of this truck in their website. Also looks to modified into a tanker at some point. driver side officer side and the rear chute

The front seats are not too bad, as long as you keep the seat back more in the upright position ( i.e not reclined ). The real problem is the rear seats, for agencies that use them to move officers around. I'm 5' 08" and barely fit in the rear of the cars we use in the city that have partitions.

I was able to get over to the Westchester County Airport yesterday to view the B-17G, the B-24J and TP-52C that the Collings Foundation ( http://cfdn.org/ ) brought for display. Here are the photos I took. Unfortunately I also found out when I got there that I had broken my main lens , so I was unable to zoom in or pan out. First the B-24J "Witchcraft'. It is the only flying example of a Liberator left.

MFC, Just went with the info on the display board next to the aircraft. Good to know there are still other examples.

Waist gunner position, there just happened to be a private plane marked to look like a WW II Japanese plane, on the field. Appropriate since this aircraft was used by the British out of India. Looking forward into the Cockpit
