Good questions Cogs. In my personal opinion the US should have made that country a parking lot a long time ago. But, with the recent actions by that crazy man they call a leader, sit and wait. play the ally of a country who starts the attack.

Matty O was a great guy. He also did a short stint with us at Montrose FD. From the first time I met him he always made me laugh and smile. Matt was a great guy and had an awesome sense of humor. If you where ever down Matt was the guy to see. And from what I hear from the Boys at the VA that worked on his shift one hell of a cook. GONNA MISS YOU MATTY O!!! RIP

Many of you might be wondering what the Outreach Program is for. Please allow me to elaborate on what the purpose of the program is for. A committee meets up and decides on what places need AED's. Currently AED's have been donated to Charles Cook Pool for the Town of Cortlandt summer camp, to the new Sensory Gym at FGL elementry school. If you know of a place that needs an AED please PM me and I will greatfully pass it on to the committee. Ken

Not for nothing just want to through this around but don't volunteer fire departments get started by a bunch of guys getting together having meetings and saying they want to help the community??? And what is going to happen if and when the mayors office shuts one of these houses down?? do these "buffs" just sit back and do nothing? I think them having a Fire department is a crazy idea. Especially since FDNY is very well trained and good at their job.

I thought NY was going to go to the National standard for EMT's??? I am currently waiting for my paper work form Michigan to arrive so I can file for resoprocity there. so far I have PA, and OH.

ok 2 answers for your post... but I understand your logic. 1. The Empire that is refered is not ESA/HVP/CARE1. Just Empire Ambulance Service. 2. If the fire department takes it over they won't be able to bill. I sat thru the lecture of Fire Based EMS at JEMS last year. With am area that has such a low income until the summer season does not seem feisable to have a fire based EMS. Now my 2 cents: I sure hope that everything works out for them. Maybe a name change and a new certificate would help them out with going from not for profit to for profit. Just a thought. anyway I hope everything works out for them

ALS you by far are one of the medics that I hope when something happens to me you are working. There are a few others on that list as well. but you by far lead the top 5. I believe that Firefighters should have atleast CPR/Firstaid/AED training. I believe it should be in the FF1 class. It should be up to the department on what level of training the member should have if he/she wants to run EMS calls. I know its difficult because of the politics. As the NY Lotto slogan goes "Hey, You never know."

kinda gonna miss the E-series. Every ambulance I have worked in has been a Ford. Granted they could be a little more roomy.

I agree with you. I am currently a. Hazmat tech. Operations would be awesome. However we do have many people trained in the chemical and biological agents.

At Cortlandt VAC we have HAZMAT awareness. Which we re-new every year as part of our training as members. I am unable to help you with what the money is going to be spent on. sorry. I know we are looking into the new Stryker load system.
