OoO, I've been with 2 aginces where they have rigs with sliding doors. I have NEVER had a problem with ice or snow clogging the track.

Raz, I understand what you are saying. I was not just talking about ny I was trying to open it up to little to departments like the ludlow VFD in ludlow pa. They run 3 tankers, a QRS/brush truck, and a pumper. Even though its only 6 prices of appuratus its still a lot for a small town like them. 1 tanker does have the ability to pump and acts like a source pumper for the engine. They have 2 ladders comming in mutual aid when ever a structure fire comes in. 1 from Kane FD and the other from Bradford township.(I believe) I was only trying to say that places like that consider their tankers key in fire suppression.

It seems like the sliding doors are getting very popular. Are all manufacturers switching to the sliding doors or are they sticking with the swing doors? And have to request the sliding?

Well that answers my question. I was gonna say last year when I was working in white plains I saw an ambulance with a car pulled over and it looked like the person in the ambulace was writing a ticket. Thanks for the answer Seth. Do the GPD rigs have the same tech equipment as a patrol car? Ie computer for plate checks, and license checks, or any other good stuff?

Not for nothing I was just stating my oppion. I didn't expect to be blown up the way I am. I have heard of companies running ladders to brush fires. Its not the first time I've heard of it. <br /><br />I wasn't at the fire in yorktown so I cannot speak on what they rolled. And if you leave out tankers then why bring it up? Tankers are just as important as any other appuratus on the road. And I never claimed to be a know it all either!!

Not for nothing but in this case it could have been a lot worse. And rolling 8 pecies to the scene is a good idea. Even at s brush fire. You never know what the exposures are. The perfect example is what happened to croton 2 rainfalls ago. They got dispatched to a brush fire which the updated to a working structure fire.

There have been problems which I am not allowed yo discuss. Chiefmcfuzzy might be able to answer them for you. Or some of the other offices/commish's might be able yo help you with.

That's a lot of rigs. I couldn't help but notice that the web site said "the unofficial website" what makes it unofficial? Does LA county not know about the website? I find that hard to believe if its true.

48B1 in montrose is State Certified. When they respond to the NYS Vets Home they do fill out paper work on what they did before the ambulance gets there. Terd, correct me if im wrong.

I did just that as soon as I got home! Remember585 thanks for your help. I thought it was hard seeing something like that, but what made it harder was the fact that i knew the family. My thoughts and prayers go to them in this time of need.
