  2. well i recently took the NYS EMT class and i am still waiting for my results ( going on week 7) i know some people said that after 2 weeks if u recived nothing in the mail then u passed. i was wondering if this was still true or if the state has taken a longer time on getting the results to those who have taken the test. anyone with any answers who could help me out would be awesome... Thanks again Ken

  6. onspots are ok...the department i belong too has chains for all of our engines which we put on either the day of or the day before the snow. we all know how "wonderful" of a job that our local town and village DPW workers do at plowing. the ambulaces we use our 4x4 rig during the snow, chains kinda do nothing only have had to use them once. stay out there all especially with this ugly storm we are getting on tuesday and wednesday.
  7. the way i see it once a chief always a chief...the "ex" means u have been there and did ur elected time (volunteer side) most of those usually become deputy chiefs. in some cases the in some cases commishiners cant be deputy chiefs therefor having the title of "ex". just my thought process. BTW good topic!!

  12. god bless 7525 she was a great person. i' ve had the pleasure of being an attendant for dawn many of times when i was riding with peekskill vac, she was very compationate about the patients she had in the back of the ambulace. when i was there in the short time dawn celebrated 40 years of service. she was also one of the charter members of the orginazation. god bless you dawn u will be missed!!!! thoughts and prayers with her family and friends.

  16. the GMC engine was bought by the city of peekskill for the muster team. it now sits covered up at station 4 on washington street ill see if i can swing by tomarrow afternoon and take some pictures for u
  17. my education of the fire distict that i serve is not what was being asked.....what was being asked was a very simple question for people who were on scene.... could of gone with out someone being a kill joy and ruining the topic part of the reason WHY i STOPPED asking quesitons on this website

  19. do you know every chemical that is in the auto body shops in your response area??? how do u know that some of these chemicals dont have a reaction with water?? i dont know any chemicals that are in any body shops in my district. im sure the last thing on a small busniess owners mind is telling someone what chemicals he/she has in their shop. and i was only asking i know a few departments have switched from using straight water to adding foam to the tank to help with the supression efforts.
