hopefully nothing does happen to the FDNY. would be a shame to see if something did happen. but of course NYC will have those "hippies" saying that it was assualt. then u will have those that will say good for the fire department protecting the police officers who were in trouble. good job by E158, hopefully the NYPD officers are ok...

the condition of the M/A is if Care1 has a rig available then they take the call, the ambulance has to be within 10min of the response area. usually both BLS rigs do transports. considering the 3 of the nursing homes that CCVAC covers are now in an agreement with Care1.
-
yes there is usually at least 2 BLS ambulances in the cortlandt area
-
Cortlandt VAC currently has Care1EMS as their primary M/A ambulance...and has come in handy on a few calls already. was just a suggestion. if they are in the area might as well use them...
-
whatever happened to doing the right thing??? if its what some of us believe is the right thing to do then so be it. as long as the call gets covered shouldnt matter what rig shows up!!!!!
-
all depends in the time of day...i have been good about getting posted in southern cortlandt. gosh for bid i need to cover a ccvac call while im working, atleast they have someone in the area that knows it and knows 90% of the medics who ride. i dont think it would be a bad idea just an idea that i thought would help out u guys down south. u get a full crew and both are EMT's. heck even if need be some of us are even willing to ride the vacs rig.

lmao...john to bad u gave up white castle...u could have made millions on that deal
-
looks like three brand new super cars...i wouldnt even call that a bad day...thats an awful day!!!!
-
So why not take the berden off ur neighbors and speak with a paid service to supply 1 M/A BLS ambulance. I can think of one where there is always a unit 5min from the village
-
Mohegan Fire has 2 of them....there are NO MID-MOUNTS in the area. seems like a good idea for one to make it to the tri-village.
-
seth u have great views. i dont think that the Village would want to drop over a million dollars plus for an ALS fly car. there was talk a few years ago about dropping ossining and going with cortlandt regional. dont know what ever happened with that. they might have an OVAC emt but they still need to get the lincense from NYSDOH. which is alot of money u need to prove that u have the personel trained in either EMT-I, Or EMT-P (or EMT-CC which isnt recgonized in westchester). i dont know if they do. i know at one time peekskill VAC was (might still be) an ALS agency. they had a ton of EMT-I's and a few EMT-P's. i know at one time they were talking about dropping the ALS license to keep costs down. if someone from Peekskill VAC could chime in and answer my question if they still are an ALS agency i would like that. and if someone from CEMS can fill us in if they have any members who are EMT-I certs. Thanks Ken

croton EMS is a BLS agency...they do not have the license to run an ALS rig. that is why they use the 36 medics. 1 emt is what the town sees fit. if they needed more then the town would of asked for more. need to take baby steps before big leaps

the rumors that i heard they are looking at a mid-mount.

Mr. Purdy was a great man!!! he deserved every min. of that honor he recived. Mr. Purdy was very compassionate about the fire house. everyone he met was with a smile and a hand shake. mahopac has always given there members who passed away full honors. would ur department do the same for a member who has been there for over 60 years??? i know mine would
