Thank you! we combined 34-52 and 34-13. The current 12 will become 13.

its not bad. everything we wanted to put in there fits, so it was no big deal. The reason it was plumbed there was because the stock pipe that pierce has runs under the compartment and came out at bumper level. And since we normally run porta-tank ops, we raised it up because the stock option sat lower then the top of the porta-tank.

id really like to see a critique of this incident, but i dont think people would be willing to take a week off to do so because thats how long it would take. it was definitely an eye opening and learning experience.

After all of the talk of budget cuts and lack of county training hours, Dutchess county released information last week that they will be getting 1350 hours as of april 1 2009, which is the same number of hours that we received last year. hopefully the rest of the counties in the area will be granted the same so we can continue the proper education of our fellow brothers and sisters.

Awesome job again by SWS. if it werent for the spot light on the A-post, you wouldnt think it were a police vehicle when passing it. Police should know, those lights are always a dead give away!

thats hysterical. ud think that the FF on the ladder would have been smart enough to swap with him, guess not
-
Yes it is a rescue engine. It is set up so the driver side is all fire related equipment and the officer side is all rescue/extrication equipment. Also has full length upper body coffin compartments for hazmat/misc rescue gear.

The hose bed is high, but there is a large step (the diamond plate under the rear roll-up) that folds down to make it easier for our firefighters to load/unload the hose.
-
Yes it is. It sits down in the bed next to the generator. Can be controlled manually, at the pump panel or with the remote control. Didnt want the added height of a traditional deck gun.

few more shots.....

Thanks Dan. Pierce did a phenominal job on it. As far as the old rescue goes, its probably going to be sold off sometime this year. We are going to be putting most of the equipment that is currently on it, on the new engine. We are also looking into a small light duty rescue/ utility as a replacement for it and 34-67 but we shall see what happens.

Committee just returned from Wisconsin after conducting the final inspection. Should be in NY within the next week or so!
-
If its been around since 2005, why havent there been any notifications to the towns and districts?? something seems a lil fishy being that its "breaking news" 3 years later.
-
Registration forms were due January 15th. They are usually pretty stern about the deadline but you can try.
-
Beekman is sending 12 members...
-
Oops my bad...The CURRENT 12 is 3rd due. The NEW one will be 2nd. Bundle up and bring your tissues chief, im sure it wont be over 5 degrees !
-
This engine will be our primary auto accident/hazmat/vehicle response vehicle. Its also serve as our 3rd due source pumper at fires. We are getting rid of the POS freightliner.
-
We were going to go with CAFS but it was too expensive of an option to have. If it were our first due, we would have considered it. It was about a 30K option.

The only towns that were immediately affected were beekman and pawling. Unionvale voted to switch to transcare as of Jan 1 and beekman has a special meeting next week to vote on the proposals (transcare, MLSS, Alamo). Dont believe everything you read in the paper. There is alot of political nonsense going on in the town hall that is being blown way out of proportion.

Im glad to see this guy finally cave and let someone have it. ive heard that people have offered to buy it and he always gave the cold shoulder. Some of our members way back made an offer and were rejected. I drive by it all the time and think to myself "man thats a shame to let a piece of history sit there and rust away" Im extremly glad to see it going back to its original home where it belongs! On a side note, we have a 37 chevy that needs to have some work done to it. Maybe some of you with resto experience can lead us in the right direction. Its not all that bad but could use some TLC.

Between the cab and pump panel is storage for a stokes and 2 backboards on the upper half and 2 removable pre-connect trays below that. thats how ours is spec'd anyway.
-
We actually drove the velocity with the "ant feeler" mirrors and it was very distracting. The way they are mounted to the cab, it creates a huge obstruction for the driver when making turns. And once you pick them, you are stuck with them. the mounts are manufactured as part of the windshield frame/a post.

We started with Tyler over a year ago. It was well before the change. We were told that we can stay with them if we were to build something new. We would have to request Tyler be our rep through Pierce.
