I went to graduate school at UNH (forensic science), and got a certificate in Arson Investigation. It truly is a great (and highly competetive) program. Many hands on excercises, labs, and the teaching staff is phenominal. Good Luck Kirkyprotein.

That fire was on parker avenue, The fire jumped two buildings south and caught my old fraternity house on fire.... Lost it all.... what a shame

Well, oustide the classroom the town is ok (West Haven is a little run down) But as far as the campus, its beautiful, the ratio of girls to guys was 2:1 when i went there (except in the Fire Sci dept, mostly dudes). The best thing is that you are so close to New Haven, that town i great at night, tons of bars, clubs lounges, galleries, concerts etc. Plus the mix of different people from UNH, Yale, So Conn, Quinnipiac etc. If your question was referring to like out of class training, ithere really is not much of that, i know you go to any suspicious fires in the area, bc the teacher is or was the DC of West Haven FD (career).

10-13 parties are a great time, full of great people (mostly PD/FD/EMS) and its for a good cause. I hope to see everyone there.

I have my masters in Forensics from UNH, took a bunch of Arson classes. Their program there is top knotch!

Firefighters Fired for Sex in Firehouse October 30. 2005 - SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Personnel files show that seven male firefighters were dismissed from the Summit Township Fire Department following claims that they had sex with women in two department firehouses. The documents include termination notices and were obtained by The Jackson Citizen Patriot under the Freedom of Information Act. All seven firefighters deny the claims and plan to fight the dismissals. The department - in Jackson County - cited policy that prohibits inappropriate conduct on the job as justification for the firings. One of the firefighters was dismissed in September; the others were fired last week. Lieutenant Scott Stoker - president of the Summit firefighter union Local 1639 - was one of the seven fired.
